This entry level receptionist is responsible to greet visitors, answer their questions, politely enforce security, and extend a warm
greeting all who access the facility. He or she will also perform duties such as answering and forwarding phone calls, sorting and
filing records, and performing other clerical tasks requiring basic knowledge of systems or procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
-Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like
attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer;
-Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and
challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children;
-Serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, directing, and announcing them appropriately;
-Answers, screens, and forwards any incoming phone calls while providing basic information when needed;
-Maintains security by following procedures and controlling access. Monitors logbook and issues visitor badges;
-Receives and sorts daily mail/deliveries/couriers;
-May perform other light clerical duties if called on as primary duties allow.
LEVELING CRITERIA Level S1
-Develops skills to perform basic activities in own job ;
-Understands how the assigned duties integrate with others in the team ;
-Has no supervisory responsibilities ;
-Uses existing procedures to solve straightforward problems; has limited opportunity to exercise discretion ;
-Impacts the accuracy of own work; receives close supervision; duties are clearly defined, and methods and tasks are described in
-Uses communication skills and common courtesy.
Accountable for supporting, upholding, and engaging in Compassion's core "Cultural Behaviors" in all internal and external
communication and relationships.
EDUCATION High School Diploma in Business Administration, Secretary, Communication or related discipline.
Minimum of three years’ experience work in a similar position
